The Super Eagles striker opened his account last week in the Rojiblancos’ draw at Elche, and he continued with that form against Sevilla
Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar scored his second consecutive goal for Almeria in their 2-1 victory over Sevilla.
Umar opened his Laliga account against Elche last week when Almeria picked their first points of the season.
Against Sevilla at the Estadio de Los Juegos Mediterráneos, the Rojiblancos had a real battle in their hands.
However, they proved a little too hot for the Julen Lopetegui-tutored team. Oliver Torres opened scoring for Sevilla in the 27th minute, but that was all they could muster.
Almeria turned on the heat after falling a goal behind, and they were rewarded just before the break with a goal via Largie Ramazani.
The Laliga new boys started the second half with the same intensity, and they took the lead within ten minutes after the restart.
Super Eagles striker Umar met a perfectly-weighted pass in the box and slammed the ball home from close range, beating Bono in the Sevilla goal.
Sevilla pushed for more goals, but they were blunt in attack and Almeria kept a strong defensive front.
The Rojiblancos held out for their first three points of the season. Umar now has two goals in three games.
