Super Eagles transfer news update: Is Chippa United ready to sell Nwabali this summer?

Despite growing speculation surrounding Stanley Nwabali’s future, Chippa United has yet to make any official move to sell the Super Eagles goalkeeper ahead of the summer transfer window.

Soccernet.ng understands that Nwabali, who impressed during Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign, has attracted interest from multiple clubs.

His stellar performances have cemented his position as the Super Eagles’ number-one shot-stopper, which makes him a sought-after asset in the transfer market.

Earlier reports linked the former Katsina United goalkeeper with a potential move to English Championship side Queens Park Rangers, while South African giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are also reportedly keen on securing his services.

However, fresh developments indicate that Nwabali is in no rush to leave Chippa United. According to Africa Foot, no formal discussions have taken place regarding a potential transfer, and the club has not communicated any intention to sell him.

A source close to his representative agency, David Moss Group, dismissed the ongoing transfer rumours, and revealed the Nigerian goalie is not in a hurry to leave.

“These rumors are unfounded, because for our part, we have not received any contact or information from Chippa. The future? We do not control what can happen, but for now, speculation about a departure of Stanley [Nwabali] is false. We will see what the summer has in store for us, but for the moment, he is not in a hurry and remains focused on the end of the season.”

While clubs may yet come knocking, for now, the Super Eagles goalkeeper remains fully committed to finishing the season with Chippa United and impressing when they travel to tackle Golden Arrows at the weekend.
