Transfers: Manchester United prioritise summer move for Super Eagles striker

Soccernet.ng understands that Premier League giants Manchester United have made Nigerian international Victor Osimhen their top striker target ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to Turkish journalist Arda Ozkurt, both Arsenal and Manchester United have submitted official offers for the Super Eagles star, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli.

Ozkurt also claims that Barcelona, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring the situation closely and could enter the race for Osimhen’s signature.

“If Osimhen wants to stay, Galatasaray are ready to make sacrifices to receive his transfer,” Ozkurt added, in a report shared by Galatasaray Facts on X (formerly Twitter).

However, Nigerian broadcast journalist Buchi Laba, who is close to Osimhen’s camp, offered a slightly different update.

While confirming serious interest from Manchester United, Laba clarified that no official offers have been submitted yet.

“There are no official offers, but Manchester United have made it clear to Victor Osimhen that he’s their first option,” Laba wrote. “Same with one club from Spain. They have been heavily pushing for months now. The other clubs mentioned have all only made enquiries.”

Osimhen, who scored three goals in Nigeria’s recent 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, has continued to attract attention with his consistent performances for both club and country.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray are keen on keeping the Super Eagles talisman permanently, with Napoli open to letting him leave this summer. However, a transfer tug-of-war for Osimhen’s services is expected to unfold in the 2025 summer window.
