“Anthony, you are a bad boy” – Super Eagles star reacts as Elanga haunts former club

Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina playfully teased Anthony Elanga after the Swedish forward scored the decisive goal against his former club, Manchester United, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Tricky Trees played host to Manchester United in a bid to keep their UEFA Champions League qualification hopes alive, securing all three points thanks to a 1-0 victory at the City Ground.

Elanga, who left United in the 2023 summer transfer window in search of regular game time, delivered a memorable performance, sealing all three points for Forest with a stunning solo goal.

After a Bruno Fernandes corner was cleared, the 22-year-old raced from deep inside United’s half before slotting the ball into the bottom-right corner.

Following the game, Aina took to Snapchat to share a video of Elanga holding the Man of the Match award. In their conversation, Aina jokingly told him, “Anthony, you are a bad boy… against United!” to which Elanga simply responded, “On to the next.”

Reflecting on his match-winning display, the former Manchester United forward spoke to TNT Sports about his decision to leave Old Trafford for City Ground:

“Coming to Forest was about playing. I’m not the finished product. I learnt a lot at Man United. I appreciate them a lot. I am enjoying my football and want to keep going.” he said, as cited by Fabrizio Romano.

Elanga has taken his domestic league goal tally to six with eight assists in 30 appearances this season. This shows his improvement since his move from Man United.
