Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker, Victor James Osimhen, has revealed Okan Buruk played a huge role in his move from Napoli to the Turkish Super Lig, Soccernet.ng reports.
After a turbulent summer in Naples where the 26-year-old tried to force a move, he ended up joining the Turkish Super Lig giants in September.
Despite having barely any pre-season preparations, Osimhen hit the ground running in Turkey. He’s scored 23 goals and provided five assists in 29 games across all competitions for Galatasaray since joining on loan.

“Turkish food is really good. I’m a very good friend of Onyekuru. He played here in Turkey, and he always posted the food, so I tried the food, and it’s really nice.
“It was easy to be able to come here [Galatasaray]. The coach really played a huge role in making me come here. I also watched their games even before I dreamt of coming. I watched a lot, so when I spoke with the coach, he told me about the project and the goal the club has set for themselves this season.
“We had the same mindset, and the symbol of the club is a lion, and I think I fall into that category as well. The way I play, the way I’ve survived through life’s journey, so it was quite easy to accept this club,” the former LOSC Lille striker said in an interview with John Mikel Obi on the Obi One Podcast.
“I didn’t have a great pre-season. There was a lot of chaos, so I’m still trying to be 100%, but so far so good. I think the club has helped me to adapt and to settle in well alongside my teammates.
“I still have a lot to give; even if I’m not scoring, I want to fight. I just want to win, not just for the club, but for me and my family as well, so I’m looking forward to the games,” Osimhen concluded.
Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Liverpool, and Arsenal are all interested in the services of the former VfL Wolfsburg.
