What Gift Orban said after relegation-threatened Hoffenheim defeated Werder

Super Eagles invitee Gift Orban has expressed his delight after scoring in Hoffenheim’s crucial 3-1 away victory over Werder Bremen on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Hoffenheim, struggling to escape the relegation battle, fell behind early when France international Stanley N’Soki scored an own goal to hand the hosts the lead.

After the match, Orban took to social media to celebrate the win, posting: “Huge Away Win +3… We keep going” on his X (formerly Twitter) page.

Since joining Hoffenheim from Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon in January, the 22-year-old has regained his scoring touch, netting three goals in his last four Bundesliga matches.

It would be recalled that his time in the French Ligue 1 was not as pleasing as he had expected, leaving the club for a regular team shirt after he had fallen in the pecking order.

Meanwhile, his return to form shows a good adjustment to a new environment, and he hopes to build on this momentum to make a positive impression.

His recent form could also put him back on the radar for a Super Eagles call-up as he looks to establish himself at the international level.
