Nigeria and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim striker, Gift Orban, was on target again for the Bundesliga side in their 1-1 draw against VfB Stuttgart this evening, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 22-year-old striker joined Die Kraichgauer from Lyon in January and has largely been an impact substitute from the bench.
Given a rare start today, Orban repaid his manager’s faith in him with a brilliant goal at home, as the Blues continue to move towards safety on the Bundesliga table.
German striker, Nick Woltemade, broke the deadlock inside nine minutes, giving the away side an early lead. Hoffenheim’s defence was carved open with a brilliant ball from Maximilian Mittelstaedt, and the 23-year-old forward placed a brilliant finish into the top corner of Luca Philipp’s goal.
The home side huffed and puffed, but finally had a breakthrough for all of their hard work in the 74th minute, courtesy of a brilliant finish from Gift Orban.
Andrej Kramaric’s pass found the Nigerian on the edge of Stuttgart’s box, and the youngster displayed some fancy footwork, beating Maximilian Mittelstaedt, before leaving the goalkeeper for dead.
Hoffenheim are now 14th on the Bundesliga table, with 22 points from 23 games, and are six points above the relegation spots.
