CAF has assembled some of the continent’s most decorated footballers for this occasion. Yobo, who amassed 101 caps for Nigeria over a distinguished 13-year international career, remains one of the Super Eagles’ most respected figures.

As captain, he led Nigeria to its third AFCON title in 2013 and competed in six editions of the tournament. He also represented the nation at three FIFA World Cups, appearing in 10 matches across 2002, 2010, and 2014.

Yobo holds the record for the defender with the most appearances for the Super Eagles.

The former Marseille and Fenerbahçe centre-back also shares the spotlight with William Troost-Ekong as the highest-scoring defender in Nigeria’s history with seven goals.
