Serie A: Real Betis plotting shock transfer swoop for Super Eagles star

Spanish La Liga club Real Betis are planning a surprise move for Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze this January, Soccernet.ng reports.

Chukwueze’s future has been in the balance in recent months due to his inability to make an impact at AC Milan.

Recall that he joined the Rossoneri in 2022 after six years at Villareal. With the Yellow Submarine, Chukwueze produced 37 goals and 31 assists in 207 games.

Unfortunately, Chukwueze has failed to prove his worth at AC Milan. He has contributed just ten goals in 55 appearances, been although most of those appearances have been off the bench.

In recent months, there have been speculations that the 25-year-old forward could be on his way out of Milan.

Last month, there were talks that Arsenal were looking to sign him as a make-shift right-winger due to Bukayo Saka’s injury. But those talks have died down following his injury at the turn of the year.

Despite Chukwueze’s injury, reports from Milan Press suggest that Chukwueze still has interest from Real Betis.

However, the report added that AC Milan are unwilling to sell Chukwueze due to Real Betis’ unsatisfactory offer.

The La Liga club have already signed Antony from Manchester United. He also operates from right wing, so they might not go all out for Chukwueze.

The Super Eagles star is expected to return to action by the end of January or early February. If he does not impress Conceicao upon his return, the Rossoneri will be happy to offload him by next summer.
