“One of the best finishers from Naija” – Ex-Chelsea player salutes Dessers’ goal vs Man United

Former Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo doffs his hat to Super Eagles teammate Cyriel Dessers for his standout performance in Rangers FC’s clash against Manchester United, Soccernet.ng reports.

Dessers played a crucial role in scoring Rangers’ only goal during their UEFA Europa League encounter with Ruben Amorim’s side. According to reports, this marks the first goal ever scored by a Rangers FC player against Manchester United.

In the 88th minute of the match, Dessers unleashed a brilliant shot into the bottom-right corner after receiving a superb lofted pass from James Tavernier inside the box to score his 150th career goal.

After the game, Omeruo praised the former Cremonese striker as one of Nigeria’s finest finishers, drawing comparisons to Victor Osimhen as another top Nigerian player.

“What a goal by Cyriel Dessers. One of the best finishers from Naija,” wrote the Kasimpasa defender on his X account (formerly known as Twitter).

For Dessers’ manager Philippe Clement, it was an excellent goal but a disappointing result, as his team left Old Trafford empty-handed.

“We kept going and scored a very good goal; it was a great finish from Cyriel. But it is a pity we got a sucker punch at the end, as the team deserved more, and a draw would have been a fair result,” Clement said.

The Nigerian forward has faced criticism in the Scottish league, but he continues to silence his doubters with impressive performances for Philippe Clement’s side.
