Nottingham Forest confident of tying Super Eagles star down amid Manchester City links

English Premier League high-flyers Nottingham Forest are confident about tying Super Eagles defender Ola Aina down to a new contract despite speculations of a possible transfer to Manchester City, Soccernet.ng reports.

Aina has been massive for Nottingham Forest this season. He has started all their Premier League games this season, helping them to four wins and four draws. And after 19 games, they currently sit second behind Liverpool.

Aina’s performances has sparked speculations about a possible transfer to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City. This is as the Citizens are looking to move on from Kyle Walker who has been at the club since 2017.

However, Nottingham Forest would be unwilling to lose their man after his performance this season. Aina’s contract expires at the end of the season, but he is yet to sign an extension. As it is, the Super Eagles star is even free to talk to suitors as he is in the final six months of his contract.

However, according to Transfer News Live, the Tricky Trees are confident that Aina will extend his deal at Nottingham Forest. In his first two years, they club has been cautious in their dealings with Aina.

This is as they have only given him single-year contracts. But this time, Aina has proved his quality. As such, he has the upperhand and can request from a longer contract and more money.

Nonetheless, if Nottingham Forest can seal qualification to the Champions League this season, it would be easier for Aina to decide to stay.
