Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen accused of punching journalist in late-night chaos

Galatasaray and Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen has found himself embroiled in controversy following an alleged altercation with a journalist during a late-night outing in Istanbul, Soccernet.ng reports.

According to Turkish reports, including Posta Newspaper, a group of reporters, including journalist Tolga Bozduman, attempted to photograph the football star. However, the situation quickly escalated into chaos.

Bozduman shared his account of the encounter, stating:

“I filmed Osimhen at the door with three of my colleagues. When the flashes went off, all hell broke loose. He ran towards me, screaming. He tried to take my camera away from me, but I didn’t let him.

“The punch he threw hit me in the head. My right side still hurts. He then started swearing. Then he offered, ‘Destroy the footage, I’ll give you money.’ When I refused, he threatened me by saying, ‘I’ll destroy you.'”

The journalist’s claims have yet to be officially addressed by Osimhen or Galatasaray.

The club has so far refrained from making any public statements regarding the matter, while the Nigerian international has also remained silent.

Osimhen’s contributions on the pitch this season have been stellar, with the forward netting 15 goals and providing six assists in 19 matches across all competitions.

As Galatasaray prepare to face Konyaspor on Friday in a crucial Trendyol Super League fixture, coach Okan Buruk will undoubtedly rely on Osimhen to deliver another top performance at Rams Park.
