“Extremely pleased”- Super Eagles legend celebrates Leicester City win over Tottenham

Super Eagles legend Sunday Oliseh has expressed elation following Leicester City’s 2-1 win over Tottenham on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Leicester City pulled one of the biggest results of the weekend after they went to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium to steal a 2-1 win.

Spurs were without some of their best legs, as Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie, Dominic Solanke, Cristian Romero, and Brennan Johnson all missed the game.

The Foxes on the other hand, needed to stop a rotten seven-game losing streak in the Premier League. And against a weakened Tottenham side they had a good chance.

Spurs went into the break with a 1-0 lead. But Leicester City started the second half on a brilliant note with Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannouss scoring in the first five minutes.

That was all the Foxes needed, as Tottenham failed to breach their defense line for the remainder of the encounter and it ended 2-1.

Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi did not play for the Foxes due to an injury. But sfter the game, former Super Eagles legend Oliseh took to social media to express his excitement at Leicester City’s win and congratulate Ndidi.

“Extremely pleased for Jamie Vardy and Leicester with the victory over Tottenham. The joy and sigh of relief I witnessed from the players, fans and the coaching staff filled me with so much pity, i just had to clap! Bravo, “La lotta continua” to Ndidi and Co,” Oliseh wrote.

Oliseh’s view was a one-off, as he does not have any ties with Leicester. Moreover, Leicester City have a Nigerian player in Wilfred Ndidi.

The Foxes next game is at Everton next week and they will be looking to continue their unbeaten run.
