Super Eagles hopeful, Tolu Arokodare, has expressed his excitement about the prospect of playing alongside Nigerian football stars such as Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, Soccernet.ng reports.
The former Amiens SC player is currently firing on all cylinders in the Jupiler Pro League, recently scoring a brace against Royal Antwerp, which brings his tally to 13 goals in 20 domestic league matches and his total tally to 14 goals in 23 matches.

Meanwhile, Arokodare cannot wait to channel this performance to the Super Eagles national team, where he hopes to don the colours of the Eagles with the 2023 and 2024 CAF Player of the Year winners.
In the top 10 leagues worldwide, Arokodare currently leads the chart as the Nigerian with the most goals, netting 13 times for KRC Genk. He is followed by Osimhen with 10 goals, Lookman with nine, Victor Boniface with six, and Alex Iwobi with five.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles are set to face Rwanda and Zimbabwe in their quest to secure 2026 World Cup qualification at all costs, under the management of new head coach Eric Chelle.
Given Arokodare’s impressive stats, it is suggested that if the former FC Koln forward continues this fine form, he should be among the strikers considered for a national team call-up.
However, in an interview with Soccernet.ng, Arokodare revealed that no one from the Nigeria Football Federation has contacted him yet. Despite this, he remains optimistic, stating that with continued hard work, the opportunity will eventually come.
“No one has contacted me yet. I believe if I work hard enough and keep on the course I am now, it [Super Eagles call-up] will definitely come.” Arokodare told Soccernet.ng.
Victor Osimhen has recently applauded his compatriot Arokodare for his impressive performances with KRC Genk this season. The Napoli-owned forward, who has been closely monitoring Arokodare’s resurgence in Belgium, commended the towering striker for his remarkable progress.
Lookman has continued to shine on the international stage, earning global recognition by ranking 14th in the Ballon d’Or standings and clinching the African Player of the Year award.
Arokodare has expressed his admiration for these two Super Eagles stars, having described them as his favourites.
Speaking to Soccernet.ng, he is eager to share the pitch with Osimhen, Lookman, and other Super Eagles players, should he receive an invitation to the national team.
“[Victor] Osimhen! [I] can’t wait to play alongside him. Also, [Ademola] Lookman as well and everyone in general, they [Super Eagles of Nigeria] look like a close bunch of players, and it will be nice to get into that vibe and bond with them.” he added.
Arokodare, who enjoyed a productive campaign last season with 15 goals to his name, believes there’s still room for improvement.
The Super Eagles-eligible striker is focused on raising his game even more as he shares the motivation behind his impressive performances this season.
“Wanting to be better. I’m my first critic and even though 15 goals last season wasn’t bad, I knew and know I can do better.” Said the 24-year-old striker.
Genk will host Oud-Heverlee Leuven at the Cegeka Arena on Saturday in their bid to extend their lead at the top of the Belgian league standings. Arokodare, who is a standout for Thorsten Fink’s troops, will be hoping to continue from where he left off.
