Head coach of the home-based Super Eagles team, Daniel Ogunmodede, has revealed his team will work hard to claim the CHAN 2024 tournament, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Remo Stars manager heralded the local Nigerian team to a 3-1 aggregate win over Ghana at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, sealing qualification for the 2024 edition of the CHAN tournament, which is set to kick off next year.

The 44-year-old gaffer made history as the qualification ended a six-year absence of the Nigerian team from the CHAN competition.

After the game, Coach Daniel was delighted with victory against the Black Stars but maintained it now time for the team to get into grit and make sure their qualification wasn’t in vain.

“We are happy to have given Nigerians a good gift for this yuletide period, but we will not over-celebrate this achievement and forget the crux of the matter. We will work hard so that we can contend very well for the trophy at the finals in February,” he told NFF Media.
