“I’m too smart” – Brown Ideye breaks silence on fathering two children with mistress and abandoning them

Brown Ideye had a stint with the Ukrainian club Dynamo Kyiv between 2011 and 2014 where he won the Ukrainian Cup

Former Super Eagles forward, Brown Ideye, has finally addressed allegations of fathering two children with a mistress and subsequently abandoning them, Soccernet.ng reports.

As reported by several posts by the Ukrainian woman, called Alex, accused the Nigerian footballer, who at some point between 2011 and 2014 was playing for Dynamo Kyiv, of abandoning his two children with her.

After a while, Ideye has finally come to deny these allegations, as he claimed he was being blackmailed for what seemed to be fake allegations.

In earlier reports by Soccernet.ng, Alex claimed she had a relationship with Ideye during his time at Dynamo Kyiv from 2011 to 2014, resulting in two children, Brown Ideye Jr. (born in 2012) and Michelle (born on December 20, 2014).

She alleges that the Nigerian footballer has abandoned these children since leaving Ukraine for West Brom in 2014 and Olympiacos in 2015.

In a series of Instagram posts, Alex shared photos of the children and criticised Ideye for being an absentee father, tagging his wife, Damika, to highlight the situation.

In response to the allegations against him, the former Olympiacos forward strongly denied the claims, asserting that he lived with his family during his two-year stint in Ukraine and dismissing the accusations as a ploy for financial gain.

He expressed frustration at the situation, accusing those involved of attempting to blackmail him with falsehoods.

“I played for 2 years in Ukraine, and throughout my time there, my family was with me. Only for me to leave and some fools think they can make some money from blackmailing me about some stupid baby shit. If you need money that bad go and work or go look for another black footballer to blackmail; I’m too smart for all this bullshit,” Ideye wrote in a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter).

The former Super Eagles attacker has recently joined the Nigeria Premier Football League side, Enyimba, and will be hoping to make a positive impression in the local league.
