Ola Aina: Galatasaray plotting shock move for Super Eagles star

Reigning Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray could make a shock move for Super Eagles defender Ola Aina, Soccernet.ng reports.

Galatasaray are flying high in the Super Lig, as they currently sit at the top of the table and are undefeated across all competitions. Their attack has been superb this season, producing 47 goals after 16 league appearances.

However, their defence has been suspect, as they have conceded 19 goals, the second-highest among the top six Super Lig teams.

One of the areas they have identified that need strengthening is their right-back position. And according to Haber Sari Kirmizi, Galatasaray are eyeing Nigerian star Aina.

The Nottingham Forest man has been rock solid this season and has chipped in with two goals. His brilliance has been key to the Tricky Trees’ success, as they sit third in the Premier League after 18 games.

It is unknown if Galatasaray will push for a deal in January or next summer. But Aina’s €14 million price-tag is a fee that the Lions would be able to afford.

However, snapping the former Torino man from Nottingham Forest could be an uphill task. Although Aina’s contract will expire at the end of the current campaign, the Tricky Trees will likely offer him a new contract due to his impressive performance this season.

Moreover, he would have an extra reason to stay at Nottingham Forest if they finish the season in a European spot.
