Marco Baroni to make big Dele-Bashiru call in Lazio’s Serie A cracker against Atalanta

Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru could start for Lazio when they take on Serie A leaders Atalanta at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Lazio and Atalanta lock horns in a battle between first and fourth. Both teams have had great starts to the Serie A campaign and appear to be serious title contenders after 17 games played.

Both clubs also have Nigerian players on their roster, with Ademola Lookman on Atalanta’s side, while Fisayo Dele-Bashiru just signed for Lazio last summer.

While Lookman has been great for La Dea, registering 12 goals and five assists in 19 games, across all competitions, Dele-Bashiru has been limited to just 13 appearances, with three goals and two assists to his name.

Dele-Bashiru has started just four Serie A games for the Le Aquile, and three of those have come this December.

Now, according to Laziali, the Super Eagles star is set to get a starting shirt when Lazio play Atalanta. Dele-Bashiru will likely play alongside Gustav Isaksen and Loum Tchaouna.

Both clubs have split the last five meetings, with Lazio and Atalanta getting two wins apiece, while they have settled for a draw.

Atalanta have not lost any of their last 13 domestic games. But Lazio can fancy their chances of getting a win. Dele-Bashiru poses a big threat in the final third, and Baroni will be hoping that he has a good game.
