Watch: Osimhen sends powerful message to injured Icardi with goal celebration against Samsunspor

Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, paid a touching tribute to injured teammate Mauro Icardi after scoring a crucial header against Samsunspor, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian forward celebrated by holding up a shirt bearing Icardi’s name, sending a heartfelt message of support to the Argentinian star, who recently suffered a season-ending injury.

The Argentine forward picked up a knock during the Yellow-Reds’ UEFA Europa League clash against Tottenham which would put him on the sideline till the end of the season.

Knowing about this, the Super Eagles attacker has taken to his social media page to which the former Paris Saint-Germain forward well, saying he would be “back stronger”.

Osimhen, who continued with his impressive performance for Galatasaray in Icardi’s absence, opened the scoring for Okan Buruk’s men with a brilliant header against Samsunspor.

In celebration of his goal in the third minute of the game, Osimhen paid tribute to the injured player with his shirt on display and the gesture was warmly received by Icardi who was in the stands at the Rams Park.

 

 

The Nigerian now has seven goals for Galatasaray in his ninth appearances and hope to score more in their clash against the Second-placed Super Lig side
