WATCH: Onumonu, Aina, Monday, Kayode net goals in France, England, Spain, Turkey: Okoye’s unlucky own goal

Soccernet.ng brings you the key highlights as Nigerian footballers abroad delivered top performances for their clubs on Saturday, November 2, 2024.

Ola Aina smashed a stunning left-footed shot into the top corner to round off an excellent 3-0 win for Nottingham Forest over West Ham United at the City Ground.

It was Aina’s first goal of the season and his fourth overall in the Premier League, making him the third-highest-scoring Nigerian international defender in the competition.

Only Joseph Yobo (8 goals) and Celestine Babayaro (5) have netted more English top-flight goals than Aina.

Gift Monday‘s brilliant start to the season continued in Spain as she bagged a goal and an assist in UD Tenerife’s 2-1 win over Athletic Bilbao.

Ane Elexpuru’s classy finish handed the visitors a 5th-minute lead inside the Campo de Fútbol de Adeje but Monday headed home the equaliser for the hosts midway through the first half.

The Super Falcons forward was also involved as Nina Richard scrambled the winning goal over the line just before halftime.

Monday has now scored four goals in her first seven league games this term, a rate better than last season when she managed six goals in 28 league appearances.

In Italy, Maduka Okoye endured a difficult evening as he was credited with the own goal that gave Juventus the lead in Udinese’s 2-0 Serie A loss at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine.

Super Falcons striker Ifeoma Onumonu finally got off the mark in France as her powerful header opened the scoring for Montpellier in their 7 – 0 drubbing of Guingamp in the Première Ligue.

In Portugal’s Segunda Liga, 20-year-old Prosper Obah beat the offside trap to net the equaliser for Vizela in their 1-1 draw with Portimonense at the Estádio Municipal de Portimão.

Over to Turkey where Ibrahim Olawoyin assisted Rizespor’s early opener but their hosts Sivasspor fought back to claim a 2-1 Super Lig victory.

Elsewhere, Super Eagles star Olanrewaju Kayode made it four goals in his last three games as he glanced home an 18th-minute equaliser for Şanlıurfaspor in their 1-1 Lig 1 away draw with Esenler Erokspor.
