Super Eagles forward Chidera Ejuke is set for a quicker-than-expected recovery from injury, providing a much-needed boost for Sevilla’s 2024-25 campaign, Soccernet.ng reports.
Ejuke, who was adjusting to life in Spain, sustained a hamstring injury during Sevilla’s La Liga clash with Barcelona.
Initial reports suggested that the Nigerian international would be sidelined until next year and would require surgery to expedite his recovery.
However, recent updates from Spanish media outlets indicate that Ejuke is on track to avoid surgery and could return to action much sooner than anticipated.
Instead of facing a lengthy absence, the 26-year-old forward is now expected to be back on the pitch in just four to six weeks, potentially in time for the busy festive period when Sevilla’s fixture list is packed.
While Ejuke’s return is still a few weeks away, the revised timeline is far less severe than initially feared. The Nigerian attacker will remain out of action for a short time, but his recovery is now on track to be much quicker, helping to strengthen García Pimienta’s squad at a crucial point in the season.
Though Ejuke has netted just once in his nine appearances for Sevilla so far, his influence extends beyond goals and assists.
