Report: Juventus eye surprising transfer move for in-demand Super Eagles striker

Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly preparing to join the race to secure the services of Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen, currently on a season-long loan at Galatasaray, Soccernet.ng reports.

Over time, the Nigerian international has garnered significant interest from top European clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain, and a host of other clubs as they look to bolster their attacking options.

As reported by FootballTransfers, Transfer Guru Fabrizio Romano, Juventus are now keen on signing the prolific forward despite the complexities involved.

The 2022-23 Serie A champions, Napoli, have maintained a firm stance against selling their prized asset Osimhen to Italian rivals which include Juventus.

Napoli’s resolve to block a move to Juventus is further reinforced by Osimhen’s €75 million release clause, reportedly applicable only to non-Italian clubs. This creates a significant hurdle for Juventus unless a compromise is reached.

Previously, Chelsea appeared to be leading the race for Osimhen during the summer transfer window, but negotiations faltered due to disagreements over the striker’s salary.

Now, with Manchester United and Arsenal actively searching for elite strikers, Chelsea may face intense competition from these Premier League rivals, potentially missing out on signing the Nigerian sensation.

The Nigerian striker is currently on a season-long loan at Galatasaray where he has so far scored eight goals in his 10 appearances for the Yellow-Reds.
