“Not as a typical star” – Galatasaray assistant coach Garcia praises Osimhen’s attitude since shocking transfer

Osimhen has seamlessly adjusted to life in Turkey, and Garcia owes it to two reasons

Galatasaray assistant coach Garcia Gomez has revealed that Victor Osimhen has been very humble and hardworking since he joined the club in the summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

Super Eagles striker Osimhen joined reigning Turkish champions Galatasaray in the last summer transfer window. The 25-year-old striker was coming off a disappointing summer, as he failed to secure a transfer to a big club.

However, Osimhen has slot in pretty nicely with the Lions. Upon his arrival, he was thrown straight into the mix, and proved his mettle. In his seven appearances so far, the former Lille man has contributed four goals and four assists.

Due to his antecedents and his brilliance at the club, Osimhen has quickly become a fan favorite. However, this has not gotten into his head.

According to Orkan Buruk’s assistant Garcia, Osimhen has been humble and focused on his football since his transfer.

“He (Osimhen) has been smart, humble, coming to our club,” Garcia told the BBC.

“The main part of squad has been together for two years, winning back-to-back championships.

“But he came in a smart way, trying to be a part of it, not as a typical star. He was not expecting the club will adapt to him, but he has been very humble and hard working.”

Osimhen’s target will be performing well this season so he can get a big move next summer. If he continues at his current rate, he could land himself a big transfer, especially as many top clubs are in need of quality strikers.
