‘Just watch’ – Nigerian Afrobeat star predicts Manchester United to win EPL after Ten Hag’s exit

Dutch Manager Erik ten Hag has recently parted ways with Manchester United just a little over two years in charge of the Red Devils

Nigerian Afrobeat artist Joseph Akinwale, popularly known as Joeboy, has confidently predicted that Manchester United will claim the English Premier League title, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian singer shared his thoughts on a recent Premier League show, expressing relief over the departure of Dutch manager Erik ten Hag, who left Old Trafford after a little over two years in charge.

The Adenuga hitmaker noted that, despite Ten Hag’s successes in winning both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup during his tenure, fans were dissatisfied with the inconsistency in league results.

“I don’t really know much about [Ruben Amorim], but one thing I’m really happy about is that [Erik] ten Hag is out—to be honest. I feel like he had enough chances to prove himself, and we were not getting any results. It got to a point where teams were no longer afraid of facing Manchester United,” Joeboy said.

During his time in the EPL, Ten Hag managed 85 games, securing 44 wins, 14 draws, and 27 losses. His cup competition record, however, was impressive, with 17 wins in 21 matches, leading United to lift the EFL Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.

Looking ahead, Manchester United will face Chelsea in a highly anticipated Super Sunday clash, and Joeboy remains optimistic about their chances.

“Manchester United is going to win [against Chelsea]. They are going to win the Premier League, just watch,” he declared on the show.

Ruud van Nistelrooy has taken over as interim manager following Ten Hag’s exit, bringing renewed hope to fans. The Red Devils’ recent 5-2 victory over Leicester City has heightened expectations as supporters look forward to the showdown with the London-based club this Sunday at Old Trafford.
