“Honoured and proud”- Everything Osayi-Samuel said after making 100th appearance for Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce

Osayi-Samuel joined Fenerbahce three years ago, and he has become an important member of the team

Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has expressed elation at making his 100th Super Lig appearance for Fenerbahce in their 4-0 bashing of Sivasspor on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osayi-Samuel joined Fenerbahce from QPR in 2021 in a bid to get top-flight football experience. And since his transfer, the Nigerian defender has been impressive.

The Super Eagles star has been a consistent part of the setup at the Ulker Stadium Sukru Sacracoglu, albeit he has been unable to help them to the Super Lig title as Galatasaray, Trabzonspor, and Besiktas have won the last four titles.

With Jose Mourinho as coach, Osayi-Samuel has gotten a decent number of appearances. And he got his fifth of the season when Fenerbahce welcomed Sivasspor on Sunday.

Goals from Samet Akaydin, Dusan Tadic, Sofyan Amrabat, and Allan Saint-Maximin sealed the 4-0 win for Fenerbahce. But aside from the win, Osayi-Samuel was also upbeat after making his 100th Super Lig appearance.

He took to social media to celebrate his achievement afterwards.

“I am honored and proud to play my 100th match in your presence on this important day, I am always ready to give my everything to be worth of you. The biggest Fenerbahçe,” Osayi-Samuel wrote.

The Fenerbahce will be looking to take his excitement to the Super Eagles, as they play Rwanda and Benin in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in the next few days.
