Italian agent Cescenzo Cecere has asserted that his client Ebenezer Akinsamiro has the quality to break into Inter Milan’s first team, Soccernet.ng reports.
Akinsamiro joined Inter Milan from Nigerian club Remo Stars in 2023. But the Nigerian midfielder has struggled to find his feet at the club.
The 19-year-old midfielder started from the under-19s, and he made his debut for the senior team last season against Lecce. But that was all he could get.
For Akinsamiro to get more game time, Inter Milan sent him out on a season-long loan to Serie B club Sampdoria. There, he has been a regular, making 11 league appearances and contributing one goal.
Akinsamiro’s contract will expire at the end of the current campaign, and he would have to return to Inter Milan to evaluate his future.
The Nerazzurri currently have a stocked midfield, with Piotr Zielinski, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Davide Frattesi, Carlos Augusto, Hakan Calhanoglu, Nicole Barella, and Kristjan Asllani. As such, it will be tough for Akinsamiro to break into the team.
Nonetheless, Cescenzo is optimistic about his client’s chances of becoming a regular at Inter Milan.
“He’s (Akinsamiro) doing very well, Inter are following his progress. We hope that he can play for the Nerazzurri soon,” Cescenzo said, per SempreInter.
If Akinsamiro can rack up a run of brilliant performances, he could break into the first team at Inter Milan.
