Arteta is the source of our problem – Former Nigerian Senator speaks out after Arsenal’s loss to Newcastle

Former Nigerian senator Dino Melaye has pointed to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta as the reason for the club’s recent struggles following their 1-0 loss to Newcastle, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Gunners endured their second Premier League loss in three matches after Newcastle forward Alexander Isak scored early in the game to cheer the fans.

The Swedish striker connected with Anthony Gordon’s cross, sending the home fans into early celebration. Despite multiple attempts, Arsenal could not equalise or find a winner.

In a recent video on social media, Melaye, clad in an Arsenal jersey, voiced his frustration by directing a song at Arteta, blaming him for Arsenal’s poor recent form.

“Mikel Arteta, you are the source of our problem. Every power that is keeping Mikel Arteta in Arsenal, die by fire,” Melaye chanted in the video.

The North London’s loss has left them sitting in fifth place in the Premier League table, a disappointing position compared to last season’s performance, where they were the table toppers.

The Gunners will be eager to bounce back as they prepare to face Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League before a London Derby clash with Chelsea in the coming Sunday.
