Super Eagles Victor Osimhen has thrown his support behind Victor Boniface, who continues to struggle to find the back of the net for Nigeria, Soccernet.ng reports.
Boniface fired blanks again as the Super Eagles secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Libya in the first leg of their 2025 AFCON qualifying doubleheader.
A late strike from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, who came off the bench, handed Augustine Eguavoen’s men the much-needed win, but Boniface’s goal drought remained a talking point.
The Bayer Leverkusen forward, who has been in stellar form at the club level, is still searching for his first goal for the national team.
Despite his struggles, Osimhen—who was unable to feature in the game due to an injury picked up during a match against Kasimpasa—took to social media to offer his encouragement.
The Napoli striker, speaking in Pidgin, assured Boniface that the goals will come, saying, “No shaking my guy, e go come, and when e finally come, e no go stop.”
After the game, Boniface humorously questioned his “village people” on social media, referencing his lack of goals for Nigeria.
He received an outpouring of support from Nigerian fans and celebrities, including rapper Odumodublvck, who commented, “Goal or no goal. You ball,” showing appreciation for Boniface’s efforts on the pitch.
Boniface will be hoping to break his goal drought in the second leg of the qualifiers as Nigeria eyes a spot in the 2025 AFCON tournament.

Look, see, Nigeria should go spiritual for their football. 1 can't emargin all these small countries comming here to defeat Nigeria. It is bad. Cameron won 4- 1 ...Senegal Egypt won 2- 0. We are celebrating slim win. Is that how.we will play during tournament proper. Tufiakwa. We are yet to have a coach that wil
l garther our best players. Politicians should leave our foot ball. I am tired of Nigeria and the only instrument that console s our condition.
There is nothing like spiritual in football when you are good, you are good, Nigeria will qualify I'm sure about that then we can come back to plan the rest, we have a coach and he is going to do well.
yes oo, leave spiritual aside, what structures did we have on ground, which strategies are we operating on, is the coach future guarantee?
If this guys get injured what is the government plan for them? there are the bread winner of their family.
Nigeria (government) is not what dieing for.
