Super Eagles stars soar in Europe: Osimhen back with a bang, Chukwueze redeems himself in Milan

Super Eagles forwards Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze were on the scoresheet for their clubs in Saturday, helping them claim victories in their games, Soccernet.ng reports.

Samuel Chukwueze got a surprise start on Saturday in Milan’s game against Udinese at the Giuseppe Meazza. Recall that Chukwueze has not been entirely impressive at Milan, causing doubts about his future at the club.

However, the Nigerian forward gave his doubters something to think about as he scored early on. AC Milan showed great team, getting the ball from defense to attack, with Christian Pulisic making a great run from the left flank. He then cut in and sent a nice pass to Chukwueze, who was lurking on the edge of the box. The Nigerian made no mistake, as he sent a precise finish into the net.

The Rossoneri were clearly the better side and looked set for the win. But unfortunately for them, Tijjani Reijnders got sent off in the 29th minute. From then, AC Milan lost steam allowing Udinese to gain some momentum.

However, they were unable to score. Chukwueze had a well rounded performance. He did well defensively and looked very lively when he got  chances to push forward. It eventually ended 1-0 to Milan, and Chukwueze was named the man of the match.

Meanwhile, in Turkey, Victor Osimhen returned to action with a bang for Galatasaray. The Nigerian striker made the matchday squad for their game at Antalyaspor but did not start as part of precautions from his last injury.

The Turkish champions were already two goals ahead before Osimhen was introduced into the game, but the Nigeria. added more bite to the attack. He was subbed into the game in the 78th minute. Then he scored in the 81st minute, but it was ruled out.

However, the former Napoli man was not to be denied as he scored the third goal for Galatasaray in stoppage time. An it was one for the cameras. Osimhen got on the end of a ball that was bubbling in the box and sent a beautiful overhead kick into the net.

The game eventually ended 3-0. And with his showing, Osimhen would likely start in Galatasaray’s next game.
