Italian Serie A giants AS Roma are mulling over a transfer for Super Eagles defender Ola Aina during the January winter transfer window, Soccernet.ng reports.
Roma are currently in search of a fullback due to multiple injuries to their players on the right flank. Celik Zeki is currently out injured, and they lost Rasmus Kristensen and Rick Karsdorp during the summer transfer window.
Due to the paucity of players, the Giallorossi are looking to sign some reinforcements during the summer transfer window. And according to Forza Roma, they are keeping tabs on Nigerian defender Aina.
Recall that Aina played under the current Roma coach Ivan Juric, who was his coach during his time at Torino. As such, that could influence the deal. The 28-year-old defender also has experience playing in the Serie A, and that could count as a plus for him.
However, it would be tough to pry Aina away from Nottingham Forest. He has been in brilliant form since signing a contract extension in May this year. As such, the Tricky Trees would be will unwilling to let him leave, especially as it would affect the balance of the team.
Nonetheless, Aina’s contract at Forest ends at the end of the current campaign, presenting Roma with a good chance to sign him.
