Osimhen dedicates Puskás-worthy goal to former Inter Milan midfielder

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has dedicated his goal to his current manager, Okan Buruk, following his brilliant goal for Galatasaray in their 3-nil victory over Antalyaspor, Soccernet.ng reports.

The former LOSC Lille forward, in his return from injury, delivered a spectacular overhead kick in stoppage time to seal the emphatic victory against Antalyaspor.

Osimhen’s breathtaking goal, already being tipped as a potential Puskás Award contender, left fans in awe. But it wasn’t just the strike that captured hearts—after scoring, the 25-year-old sprinted to the sidelines to embrace the former Inter Milan midfielder, in a heartwarming celebration.

Speaking to reporters after the game, the 25-year-old revealed that the goal was a special birthday dedication to his coach.

“I dedicate the goal I scored to my coach [Okan Buruk]. Today was his birthday. I scored a goal that could be a candidate for the Puskas award. Maybe it could be the first, why not?” Osimhen said as reported by Nexus Sports.

In the 90th minute, Osimhen produced a moment of magic that left the crowd in awe. After a frustrating evening with a goal ruled out for offside, the 25-year-old forward made amends with a stunning acrobatic finish, confirming his side’s three points.

Galatasaray’s manager also hailed the wonder goal after the game, labelling it an outstanding goal to show the league’s quality to the world.

“Osimhen is the same way. We used him for a short time. He has one goal that didn’t count and one that counted. I would have been very upset if it didn’t count,” Buruk said “It’s a very nice goal. It’s a goal that will make a splash in Europe and show our league. We need to show the quality of the Turkish league. In this sense, it’s an important goal.

With this win, Galatasaray solidified their position at the top of the Turkish Süper Lig
