The Super Eagles of Nigeria are gearing up for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Libya, with their camp set to open on Sunday, October 6, in Uyo, Soccernet.ng reports.
Nigeria will face Libya in two back-to-back matches this October, with the first leg scheduled to take place on October 11 at the Akwa Ibom Stadium in Uyo.
The return leg will follow four days later on October 15 in Benina, Libya.
Although the official squad list has not yet been made public, Guardian reports indicate that Super Eagles Interim Manager Austin Eguavoen is expected to release the list this week.
According to the report, all arrangements have been finalised for the camp, and players will begin arriving this weekend, with training set to begin on Monday.
The Super Eagles will be looking to build on their strong start to the AFCON qualifiers, having defeated Benin Republic 3-0 in their opening match and secured a goalless draw against Rwanda in Kigali.
Libya, on the other hand, have struggled in Group D, currently sitting at the bottom after a 1-1 home draw with Rwanda and a 1-2 defeat to Benin Republic.
The first match between Nigeria and Libya will kick off at 5:00 p.m. in Uyo, while the second leg in Benina, near Benghazi, will be played at 8:00 p.m.
Nigeria will hope to secure maximum points from these fixtures to strengthen their position in the race for a place at AFCON 2025 in Morocco.
