La Liga: Super Eagles forward set to miss three months of football after picking up injury against Barcelona

Ejuke was the recipient of the Sevilla Player of the month award in September, scoring just one league goal

Super Eagles and Sevilla forward, Chidera Ejuke is set to spend at least three months on the sidelines after picking up hamstring injury in his side’s loss to Barcelona on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 26-year-old was a part of the Nigerian team that were left stranded in a Libyan airport during the previous International break for over fourteen hours before returning safely to his club side.

Speaking ahead of Sevilla’s game against Hansi Flick’s side, Ejuke mentioned the Reds and White will be hunting for all three points but things turned sour in the first half when Robert Lewandowski broke the deadlock in the 24th minute.

Pedri Gonzalez added the game’s second four minutes later before Lewandowski added the game’s third in the 39th minute.

Things went from bad to worse for Garcia Pimienta’s side in the final minutes of the first half when Chidera Ejuke cried out for help as he held his hamstring.

The former Hertha Berlin man had to be helped by two of the Sevilla medical staff as he limped to the dressing room, though he got a fair play hug from Hansi Flick.

As per EuroFoot, Ejuke suffered a high-grade hamstring tear in the game vs Barcelona and is set to be out for at least three months to focus on his recovery.

This comes as a big blow to Sevilla as they’ll miss Ejuke’s pace and trickery from the flanks.
