“I’m happy”- Sevilla coach Garcia Pimienta promises more game time for Iheanacho

Sevilla coach Garcia Pimienta has stated that he is happy with Kelechi Iheanacho and he believes the Super Eagles star will soon start playing more games, Soccernet.ng reports.

Iheanacho has struggled for game time since his free summer transfer to Sevilla. The Nigerian forward showed glimpses of brilliance at his former club Leicester City and he was expected to show that quality for Los Nervionenses upon joining them.

However, he has failed to prove his worth. Iheanacho has featured in five games for Sevilla this season, but he has not recorded any goal contribution.

There have even been talks that Sevilla may be exploring other striking options. However, coach Pimineta has expressed confidence in Iheanacho. The Spanish tactician has been impressed with Iheanacho’s work ethic, and he believes that the Nigerian striker will soon start getting more minutes.

“I’m happy, the other day he was going to come on to the pitch. But Suso’s injury happened and that was a huge impact on us because he’s training well. The lad deserves to play more minutes.

“The other day, even though the result wasnt good, I was going to put him in,” Pimienta said ahead of Sevilla game at Espanyol on Friday.

Sevilla have been battling with injuries for the past two weeks. As such, Iheanacho could see his number of minutes increase significantly. He would have to open his goals account soon to be able to pin down a shirt.
