Former Fenerbahçe winger Abdullah Ercan has raised concerns about the level of competition in the Turkish Super Lig with the arrival of Victor Osimhen at Galatasaray, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Nigerian international joined Mauro Icardi in Turkey following an escape from Napoli—after a transfer tussle with his camp and the club—on a season-long loan.
So far, the Super Eagles attacker has been firing on all cylinders for the Istanbul-based club recently scoring a Puskas worthy goal in Gala’s clash against Antalyaspor.
Ercan, speaking on A Spor, believes the combination of Icardi and Osimhen presents an unfair challenge to other teams in the Super Lig.
“Mauro Icardi and Victor Osimhen in Galatasaray are an unfair competition for the Super League,” Ercan said.
The 25-year-old striker have recognized the former Paris Saint-Germain forward as legend of the game, previously speaking about collaborating with Icardi and Michy Batshuayi, stating,
“Icardi is a legend of this game. Batshuayi is also a deadly player. I have things to learn from them, we will cooperate. We will improve each other’s quality,” Osimhen said after Galatasaray’s 5-0 win on Saturday.
The Nigerian forward will look to make a significant impact at Galatasaray before his season-long loan expires in June 2025.
