Confirmed: Super Eagles star to miss out on football till next year after suffering nasty injury

Olisah Ndah was recalled to the Super Eagles squad for the first time in over two years last month after impressing with his club side.

Super Eagles and Orlando Pirates centre back, Olisah Harold Ndah is set to spend a long time on the sidelines after suffering a fracture while on duty for his club side, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 26-year-old picked up an injury in the Pirates League clash against Polokwane City last month. He was subbed off in the 84th minute, although his side had already sealed a 3-0 win.

The injury meant he missed the Buccaneers crucial MTN8 cup win against Stellenbosch FC, but his teammates credited their win to Ndah’s impact on the team.

Ahead of Orlando Pirates’ Carling Black Label Cup opener against newly promoted PSL club, Magesi FC, at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday, the club confirmed they will be without key defender, Olisa Ndah, who is set to face an extended period on the sidelines.

“The Bucs medical department has confirmed that the 26 year old has suffered a tibia fracture. Due to the location and nature of the injury; the decision on surgery is not straightforward but based on this type of injury, Ndah has been ruled out for the rest of the year,” the club’s statement read as per their official website.

In addition to Ndah’s injury, the medical department also provided updates on other players in recovery. While they look like favourites for their Saturday clash, the tides might have turned against them as they have a total of nine players sidelined with injuries.
