“Big Premier League statement” – Former France International believes Osimhen will make Chelsea title challengers

Victor Osimhen missed Nigeria's game against Libya at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium due to a thigh injury.

Former Chelsea and France midfielder, Florent Johan Malouda, has revealed Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, will make Enzo Maresca’s side immediate title contenders, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 44-year-old donned the blue colours of between 2007 and 2013, winning the UEFA Champions League, the English Premier League and the FA Cup in his time at the Stamford Bridge.

Speaking about Chelsea’s current attack, the ex-Lyon man likened Osimhen to Ivorian legend, Didier Drogba, admitting he will be welcome to the Blue side of West London and immediately make them title contenders.

“Victor Osimhen would be very welcome. I think Didier Drogba had a lot of nice things to say about him. He would have to write his own history, but of course there would be a lot of expectation and excitement [if he joined]. I think the addition of Osimhen would send out a big message to the other top teams in the Premier League. If Chelsea signed him, then I think we could say for certain that his quality would put Chelsea right into the title race.

If Chelsea can stay within touching distance of the top of the table, then adding Osimhen to the squad in January would give the fans and the club a really exciting second half to the season,” the four-time French Champion said as per IC Football News.

While Chelsea’s interest in Osimhen continues to mount, the Napoli loanee has continued to thrive in Galatasaray.
