Wilfred Ndidi put up another fine individual display but it was not enough as Leicester City fell to a tough 4-2 defeat at Arsenal in their Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon, Soccernet.ng reports.
Title hopefuls Arsenal dominated the encounter from start to finish but Leicester City showed grit and quality to battle from a two-goal deficit before losing the game in stoppage time.
Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring for the Gunners in the 20th minute before the Brazilian supplied the assist for Leandro Trossard to double the home team’s advantage just before halftime.
However, Leicester City came out smoking in the second half with full-back James Justin grabbing a brace.
He will not score a better goal in his career than his second of the afternoon which was created by Super Eagles midfielder Ndidi.
Ndidi floated to the Foxes’ left wing and with his left foot sent a searching cross into the Arsenal area, which Justin did excellently to smash it in first time, off the post.
It was Ndidi’s fourth assist of the season.
However, in the fourth minute of extra time, Belgian forward Trossard netted the third goal for Arsenal before Kai Havertz added another to send Leicester City back home with an empty purse.
