Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has playfully promised his teammate Callum Hudson-Odoi 1,000 boiled eggs in celebration of his sensational match-winning goal against Liverpool, Soccernet.ng reports.
Hudson-Odoi, a former Chelsea star, scored a stunning goal that ended Liverpool’s three-game winning streak, earning him the Man of the Match award. His performance, which left fans in awe, also secured a crucial victory for Forest.
In a lighthearted video circulating on social media, Aina humorously vowed to reward the Ghanaian winger with 1,000 eggs for his heroics, pointing up the strong Ghana-Nigeria bond between the two players.
Hudson-Odoi’s goal came from a precise pass by Swedish forward Anthony Elanga, who set on fire a swift counterattack. The former Chelsea man unleashed a powerful strike from mid-range, beating the Liverpool keeper and sending the Forest faithful into a frenzy.
While Hudson-Odoi basked in the spotlight, Ola Aina also played a key role in Nottingham Forest’s resilient 1-0 victory, anchoring the defence and helping to shut out Liverpool’s attackers. His solid display at full-back earned him much praise.
Meanwhile, Nigerian forward Taiwo Awoniyi remained an unused substitute, as manager Nuno Espírito Santo opted for New Zealand striker Chris Wood, who has been in fine form with two goals this season. Awoniyi has yet to make an appearance since Forest’s clash with Wolverhampton.
