“The team is the most important” – Victor Osimhen unfazed despite goalless Galatasaray run

Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen, provided yet another assist in his side’s UEFA Europa League clash against PAOK Thessaloniki, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 25-year-old joined the Turkish side earlier this month and has been in fine form for them, providing four assists in his first three games.

The Napoli loanee has been heavily involved in Galatasaray’s goal contributions but is yet to find the back of the net himself, and has had two of his goals awarded as own goals.

Speaking after providing another assist in Gala’s 3-1 victory against PAOK last night, the former VfL Wolfsburg revealed he’s unbothered about not opening his goalscoring account for the club, as it’ll come at the right time.

“Unfortunately, it was a goal that was scored again and counted as an own goal. I feel it, my goal is close. The most important thing is that Galatasaray wins. I’d also like to thank the fans. We need to keep winning in the league and Europe. Mauro Icardi and I have a very good relationship. He’s a leader in the locker room. Michy Batshuayi is a very good character. I’m so happy to be at Galatasaray. We’re helping out as a team. If I’m not, they’re there. We’ll keep winning as a team,” Osimhen said in quotes revealed by Fanatik.

The ex-LOSC Lille man appears to be enjoying life in Turkey after a video of him dancing to a Turkish song surfaced on the internet. This was during his time in France when he played with a Turkish teammate(Yusuf Yazıcı).

“A Turkish friend (Yusuf Yazıcı) played the song in Lille at the gym. I don’t understand the lyrics, but I like the song. Now every goal I score, then it makes sense for the song ‘Yarim yarim’,” Osimhen added.

Galatasaray are currently top of the Turkish Super Lig with 18 points from six games, five points above Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe.
