“I’ve always said what I’ve said” – Mikel Obi reveals the one flaw holding Nicolas Jackson back

Former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has shed light on his recent criticisms of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, Soccernet.ng reports.

Despite acknowledging Jackson’s talent and contributions to the team, Mikel revealed one key area where the young forward must improve to reach his full potential.

The Chelsea legend pointed to Jackson’s finishing as the primary flaw in his game, emphasising that the forward’s positioning and work ethic are commendable, but his goal-scoring ability needs sharpening.

“I’ve always said what I’ve said about Nicolas Jackson. He is a good player; there is no time I have ever said he is a bad player.

“The only criticism is his finishing needs to be much better. In terms of giving us what we want, being in the right place at the right time, he does for the team.” he said on BEIN Sports.

The Senegalese forward and the former Nigeria international found themselves in a boxing ring of words earlier this season when Mikel Obi criticized his style of playing and suggests Chelsea get a player like Victor Osimhen to do the job.

Following this, the former Villarreal CF forward scored a goal in a 6-2 away win against Wolverhampton and wrote on his social media platform that the Nigerian should shut up which sparked media attention.
