2022-23 Europa League top scorer backs Osimhen’s move from Napoli to Galatasaray

Victor Osimhen has recently sealed a move away from the Diego Maradona Stadium to join Turkish giants Galatasaray on a season-long loan

Super Eagles attacker Victor Boniface has voiced his full support for compatriot Victor Osimhen as he embarks on his new chapter with Galatasaray, Soccernet.ng reports.

The transfer saga surrounding Osimhen, who has made a high-profile move from Napoli to the Turkish giants, has finally reached a conclusion.

Boniface, who recently won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Year award with Bayer Leverkusen, took to social media to congratulate the 2023 Africa Footballer of the Year, saying, “@victorosimhen9 Congrats broski I Dey wait for you.”

The bond between Boniface and Osimhen extends beyond their roles in the Super Eagles. They have both been spotted in images that show their friendship.

Boniface recalled a moment when Osimhen, reflecting on his own triumphs, predicted Boniface’s future success.

“Shout out to [Victor] Osimhen because I remember when Napoli won the league. He told me next year will be your turn and it’s happening now. Senior man respect,” Boniface shared with Soccernet.ng Managing Editor, Lolade Adewuyi.

Boniface’s stellar season in Germany saw him lift the Bundesliga title, DFB-Pokal, and DFB Super Cup, and earn accolades like the 2024 Rookie of the Season award.

Both players have been named in the Super Eagles squad for their upcoming matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
