Victor Osimhen rejects Saudi club, insists on top European club

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has rejected a bid from Saudi-Arabian club Al Ahli, as he is only interested in joining a top European club this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

Napoli and Osimhen are still trying to find a solution to the transfer saga that has dragged on throughout the summer.

Osimhen has attracted top European clubs with his impressive displays for Napoli, registering 76 goals and 18 assists in 136 appearances.

Before the end of last season, Napoli already had an agreement with the Super Eagles star to let him leave the club this summer. Arsenal, Chelsea, and PSG appear to be the frontrunners for the transfer, but nothing concrete has been reached.

Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal have also been in the mix, but Osimhen rejected them. According to a report on Sunday night, Al Ahli sent a bid around $65-€70 million, and the club accepted it.

Now, in a new development, per Calcio Napoli, Osimhen rejected the Al Ahli offer. This is because he only wants to join a top club in Europe.

He had previously agreed on personal terms with PSG, but the transfer cooled off as the French champions have not agreed on a fee with Napoli.

The transfer window closes in four days, and all the parties involved in Osimhen’s transfer will have to move quicker to seal the deal.
