“Very intelligent” – Alex Iwobi showers praise on ex-Arsenal star after Leicester win

Former Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi secured all points for Fulham in their match-day two English Premier League clash against Leicester City

Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi has praised Emile Smith Rowe for his standout performance in Fulham’s hard-fought victory over Leicester City, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Super Eagles midfielder who recently made the switch from Everton to Fulham, has quickly settled into life at Craven Cottage.

In the match against the Foxes, Smith Rowe capitalized on Adama Traore’s precise pass, unleashing a brilliant shot that left goalkeeper Mads Hermansen with no chance, opening the scoring for Marco Silva’s side.

The Nigerian international, who previously played alongside Smith Rowe during his time at Arsenal, spoke highly of the young English forward.

He stressed Smith Rowe’s attacking prowess and football intelligence, noting how crucial his contributions will be as Fulham aims to become a more dynamic force in the Premier League.

“He’s such an attacking threat, very intelligent on and off the ball, and he’s the sort of player we need, especially as we’re trying to be a bit more dynamic,” Iwobi said, as quoted by Mail Sports.

The match saw Leicester City equalize in the 38th minute when Facundo Buonanotte’s corner was met by Wout Faes, who headed the ball into the left corner of the net to restore parity for the visitors.

Both teams pushed hard for the win, but it was Iwobi who once again made the difference. Released in the area by Antonee Robinson, the Super Eagles star calmly slotted the ball into the left side of the net, securing all three points for Fulham.

Iwobi continues to shine under Silva’s management and has quickly become a key player for the Cottagers. As the season progresses, he will be looking to maintain his form and help Fulham achieve a strong finish in the league.
