PSG close door on Osimhen and Lookman pursuits: No plans to fill Ramos void

Super Eagles players Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen have recently topped the transfer list of Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain’s summer plans have taken an unexpected turn as star striker Gonçalo Ramos underwent successful surgery on his left ankle following an injury sustained during PSG’s Ligue 1 opener against Le Havre, Soccernet.ng reports.

Despite the setback, PSG’s management has opted against entering the transfer market to find a replacement, with the club placing a heavy priority on Super Eagles forwards Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen.

According to L’Équipe, as reported by Tutto Atalanta, head coach Luis Enrique has decided to rely on internal solutions, particularly turning to Spanish forward Marcos Asensio to fill the void left by Ramos’ absence.

This decision reshapes PSG’s immediate tactical approach and sends ripples across the broader European transfer landscape.

Notably, this development dashes any lingering hopes that the Parisians might rekindle their interest in Nigerian forwards.

Both players, who have been linked with potential moves away from Napoli and Atalanta respectively, were on PSG’s radar earlier in the window.

However, with the Parisian club now focussing on utilising their existing squad, any possibility of securing a big-money move for either Nigerian star appears to be off the table for the time being.

Meanwhile, the fates of Osimhen and Lookman remain uncertain as the clock ticks in the transfer market.
