Mikel Arteta’s recent comments fuels Arsenal’s links to Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen

The transfer market closes in five days, and Arsenal may have to go all out to get some quality into their squad

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has complained that he doesn’t not have enough firepower to prosecute the season, further fueling reports that the club want to sign Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, Soccernet.ng reports.

Arsenal have been linked with many players this summer, but they have made just one signing which was Riccardo Calafiori. However, they have lost some squad players like Cedric Soares, Mohamed Elneny, and Emile Smith-Rowe.

Meanwhile, Nigerian stars Lookman and Osimhen have been on the radar of the Gunners this summer, but nothing concrete has emerged from those talks yet.

But with just five days until the end of the transfer window, it appears Arsenal will put their feet on the gas and get one or two signings in.

This is as Arteta complained about a lean squad after Arsenal’s Premier League win over Aston Villa on Saturday.

“We are a little bit short, if we can do something we will do it,” Arteta said.

“We need good availability from everybody, we don’t have 23 outfield players and normally you have to be equipped like that.”

Arsenal have competition from PSG and Al Ahli for Lookman, while Chelsea and PSG are also in the mix for Osimhen.

However, if they can table the right offer, they could just grab one of the two Nigerian stars before the transfer window closes on August 30.
