Ahmad Ghali breaks silence on transfer links to Lampard’s Coventry and Kieran’s Ipswich

Slovan Liberec midfielder Ahmad Ghali has responded to transfer rumours linking him with a move to English clubs Coventry City and Ipswich Town, as well as Serie A side AC Monza, Soccernet.ng reports.

Earlier reports suggest the former Nigeria U-20 player has piqued the interest of Frank Lampard and McKenna Kieran-led side, who are set to battle with Italian side, AC Monza for the signature of the player.

The 24-year-old, who has impressed with two goals and four assists in the Czech first division this season, spoke exclusively to Soccernet.ng, who revealed that his focus remains firmly on his current team.

“To be honest, I saw the news like you, and my agent saw it as well. But the thing is, the discussion is not on me; it’s on my agents,” Ghali said to Soccernet.ng. “I don’t like to get involved in transfer stories. My focus is on helping my team until the end of the season, and then my agents will handle everything regarding the transfers.”

Speaking further, the Kano-born talent made it clear that there is growing interest from various clubs, and expressed a strong desire to eventually play in one of Europe’s top five leagues: Spain, England, Italy, Germany, or France.

“A lot [of interested clubs] in Czech league and outside,” he said. “[I’d like] to be in the top five leagues in the world like Spain , England, Italy, Germany, and France.”

Reflecting on his journey, Ghali credited his time at AS Trencin, where he started his European career, as a pivotal moment in his development.

“It was a really good experience, and I learned a lot as both a player and a person. I spoke with Kingsley Madu, and he gave me lots of advice,” Ghali recalled.

The young Nigerian also spoke humbly about his rise from grassroots football to where he is now.

“Ahmad Ghali is just a normal and humble guy who started his career from the grassroots,” he said. “I’ve worked hard from the beginning, never giving up, with the goal of being among the best African footballers. In life, everything is possible if you really work hard for it.”

Ghali will aim to maintain his strong form at Slovan Liberec as he works towards realizing his dream of playing in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
