WATCH: Alex Iwobi ignores Zidane, names De Bruyne and Okocha as he builds his ultimate midfielder

Super Eagles and Fulham midfielder, Alex Chuka Iwobi, was tasked with building his ultimate midfielder, and he included the attributes of several legendary footballers, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 27-year-old is one of the senior players in the Nigerian football team but excused himself when building the perfect profile when ESPN tasked him.

The former Everton midfielder picked the Passing attribute of his ex-Arsenal teammate, Mesut Ozil. The former Real Madrid man recorded 216 career assists before hanging his boots last season.

Iwobi picked the work rate of 2018 FIFA World Cup winner, Ngolo Kante while opting for Frank Lampard in the finishing aspect. The ex-Chelsea captain holds the record for most goals scored by a midfielder.

Kevin De Bruyne’s vision stands apart for Alex Iwobi. The 27-year-old opted for the strength of former Barcelona and Manchester City midfielder, Yaya Toure.

He opted for the skills of former Paris Saint-German and Frankfurt showman, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha. Andrea Pirlo’s technique holds the forte for Iwobi’s perfect midfielder and opted for the football IQ of Ricardo Kaka.

Iwobi’s perfect midfielder embodies a perfect mix of finesse, technique, strength and a balance of midfield and attacking instincts.

The former Everton man had a decent season with Marco Silva’s Fulham last season and played in all of the Super Eagle’s games at the AFCON 2023, albeit out of position, and was slandered by a huge number of Nigerian football fans after the competition due to his below par performances.
