Spain vs England – Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala picks side for Euro 2024 final

The final between England and Spain promises to be an interesting one

Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala has backed Spain to defeat England in the final of the 2024 European Championships on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports.

The final of the Euros takes center stage at the 71,000-capacity Olympiastadion in Berlin on Sunday, and it will be England against Spain.

The Spanish have been great all tournament, breezing past all comers, while England laboured hard in all their games until the semi-final fixture against Netherland, where they had their best performance.

But despite both teams’ trajectories, it is an evenly matched tie. In fact, England have the upperhand in terms of their experience, having played in the final of the last Euros.

Ahead of the final, Super Falcons star Oshoala has pitched her tent with Spain. Recall that Oshoala has a soft spot for Spain, having played for Laliga Femini giants Barcelona between 2019 and 2024. In the semifinal, she celebrated Yamine Lamal’s wonder goal for Spain.

And on Friday, she showed support for La Furia Roja. On her social media page, she posted, “Imagine Spain winning Euros and Alcaraz winning another grand slam on Sunday. That would be soooo…”

Oshoala left Barcelona for American side Bay FC at the turn of the year, and she has become an integral part of the club.
