Euros 2024: Super Falcons’ Asisat Oshoala celebrates Lamine Yamal wonder-goal in Spain vs France clash

Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala has praised Yamine Lamal’s stunning goal for Spain in their 2024 Euro Championships semifinal win against France, Soccernet.ng reports.

Spain and Germany met in the semifinal of the 2024 Euros on Wednesday at the Allianz Arena in Munich. Both teams were balanced on paper, but it was sure to be an interesting encounter.

Spains wingers Yamine Lamal and Nico Williams have dominated the headlines so far at the Euros because of their brilliance and potential. And they were expected to show that again and Le Bleus.

France started the game well, and they were rewarded with a goal in the 9th minute, courtesy of Randal Kolo Muani, who converted a header in the box. However, France took their feet off the pedal after they scored, allowing Spain into the game.

The Spaniards got the equalizer in the 21st minute via Lamal, and it was a classic finish. Lamal cut in from the right of the pitch, displaced Adrien Rabiot and Lucas Hernandez, and sent a wicked curler that hit the upright and went into the net.

That goal set the football world agog, and Super Falcons star Oshoala joined in praising Yamal. On her X page, she wrote, “YAMAAALLLLL ….this kid is special”.

Oshoala obviously has a soft spot for Lamal because he is a Barcelona player. Recall that she spent five years with Barcelona and had a highly successful time at the club.

Spain will wait to know the winner of the other semi-final fixture between England and Netherland to know who they will face in the final.
